Jesus didn’t stutter. (Mark 13: 33-37)
“Stay alert.”
He said it four times. Not once. Not casually. But like a man who knew what was coming and knew how easy it would be for the rest of us to fall asleep.
He paints the picture: A master leaves. He puts his people in charge. He gives them real responsibilities. And he tells them, not suggests, stay ready. Stay alert. Don’t get caught sleeping.
And I have to ask myself…
Where have I drifted these last four months?
Why the last four months?
They’ve been a wave.
Travel. Pressure. Pivots. Exhaustion.
All of it has knocked me out of my rhythm.
But not out of calling. That’s the shift.
Jesus wasn’t just talking about His return one day. He was talking about the Kingdom of God moving right now. Today. In the middle of our chaos. In the middle of our calendars. And if we’re not spiritually awake, we’ll miss it.
God has given us work.
Real work.
Not just business strategy or vision boards, but Kingdom assignments.
And I’ve felt the nudge.
The podcast I’ve delayed.
The pivots in the business I keep holding off.
The journals I know I’m supposed to return to.
The tough conversations I haven’t had.
None of them are random. None of them are distractions. They are invitations.
So the question is not “what’s next?”
The question is: am I awake?
I don’t want to be found sleeping when God starts moving.
Not in my family.
Not in my business.
Not in my body.
Not in my soul.
So here’s where I land:
I may feel off rhythm. But I’m not off course.
God hasn’t stopped watching. He hasn’t stopped assigning. And even when we’ve lost pace, He hasn’t pulled the plug.
It’s time to get our eyes back up.
No more waiting on perfect conditions.
No more blaming the calendar.
No more passive drift.
Stay ready.
Because the Kingdom doesn’t knock. It shows up.
