(Mark 14: 1-2)

As the Passover approached, the chief priests and scribes were secretly plotting to kill Jesus. They weren’t debating His theology or asking honest questions. They had made up their minds — and now they were looking for a way to silence Him. But because of the crowd, they had to do it in secret. They feared a riot.

They feared exposure.

Even when men and women are leaning into their power, if the source is not God, there’s an underlying current of fear and exposure.

Jesus was at the height of His influence, walking fully in obedience, and yet opposition rose not from the outside world but from those within His own religious circles. His message threatened their control and exposed their hearts. So they plotted behind closed doors.

When you walk in truth, you will not always be celebrated. In fact, the more aligned you are with your calling, the more resistance you should expect. And often, that resistance does not come loudly or boldly.

It whispers.

It schemes.

It lurks in the dark corners — sometimes from people you thought were for you.

I’ve experienced this firsthand:

Quiet criticisms.

Twisted narratives.

False assumptions.

Words spoken in the dark about me, my family, my team, my company and my mission and calling. It’s not new, but it always still stings even just a little. I’ve had to remind myself that the opposition doesn’t define the mission.

God does.

The enemy rarely attacks in broad daylight. He prefers shadows. He uses distortion, half-truths, and fear to sow doubt and derail momentum. But my role is not to fight in the shadows. It’s to remain in the light.

God has called me to build, to speak, to lead — and no amount of covert opposition can cancel what He has commanded.

I don’t need to fear the whispers.

I don’t need to retaliate.

I just need to keep walking in obedience.

Let them whisper. I know who sent me. I know who I serve. And that’s more than enough to keep me moving and is enough to keep you moving too.
