Jesus never sent His disciples out alone. He sent them in pairs—because He knew the journey would be full of challenges, resistance, and battles against the enemy. There is power in walking with another. (Mark 6:7-13)
For too long, I walked alone, relying only on myself (or let’s face it, putting unreasonable pressure on Shelly to be all the things). But the last six or seven months have changed something. I have intentionally sought out and journeyed with core brothers—men who share my drive, my beliefs, and my hunger for truth. Walking in brotherhood is a weapon.
And beyond that, I’ve expanded key relationships.
– My marriage and family remain my foundation.
– My incredible business partner, our amazing senior leaders, and key staff are vital to my growth.
FAITH IS STRENGTH TRAINING
Jesus told the disciples to take nothing—no food, no money, no backup plan—just faith.
Was this about trust? Or was it about building resilience?
Strength only comes through resistance. My body, my marriage, my business—none get stronger without walking through struggle.
This was no reckless leap of faith—it was God forging warriors who would later stand firm in the face of immense trials.
This weekend, I’ve been thinking about faith as God’s training ground. It’s not just about trusting Him—it’s about Him making us stronger, resilient, and steadfast in adversity.
KNOWING WHEN TO WALK AWAY
Not every mission is meant to be completed. Jesus made it clear:
– If they receive you, stay.
– If they reject you, move on.
Have I lingered too long in places I was meant to leave?
Have I walked away too soon from places where I was called to stay?
JESUS CALLS FOR DECISIVENESS
People may doubt our words, but they cannot deny our fruit, just like what we see here in Mark:
And so the disciples went out—casting out demons, healing the sick, and preaching repentance.
The mission was clear: Set people free.
That same call remains for us today.
If all I did for the rest of my life was walk alongside those ready to wake up, step into freedom, and experience God’s power—that would be enough.
