Jesus never chased the crowds — they came to Him. And sometimes, in our own lives, we need to do the same. We must go where Jesus is, rather than expecting Him to meet us in our distractions, our comfort, or our complacency. He is always near, always present, but there are moments when we must intentionally seek Him.
Jairus, a synagogue official, likely stood with those who opposed Jesus (Mark 5:21-24). But when his daughter was near death, none of that mattered. Status, reputation, and pride all fell away. He came to Jesus boldly, in front of the crowds, and laid himself at His feet, pleading for mercy. His request was clear and full of faith:
Come.
Lay Your hands on her.
She will get well and live.
No hesitation. No passivity. No doubt. Jairus knew exactly what needed to happen, and he spoke it with certainty.
That’s the kind of faith we need. The kind that doesn’t hedge or hesitate. The kind that declares, I know God will move. But if we’re honest, how often do we approach Him like that? Do we pray bold prayers, or do we hold back, unsure if our request is too big?
And Jesus? He went with Jairus. He wasn’t thrown off by the chaos, the demands, or the distractions. He responded.
God is never too busy for us. People have limits, but He does not. His presence is infinite, and His willingness to walk with us is unwavering.
Our job is to come to Him—boldly, with faith, with clarity, and with the expectation that He is already at work.
