There’s something powerful that happens when we bring our needs—boldly and persistently—before Jesus.
In Mark 7:24–30, we meet a Gentile woman with no formal religious background, no spiritual credentials, and no apparent reason to be near Jesus at all. Yet, she approached Him anyway—with faith.
And faith, when paired with humility and persistence, moves heaven.
Jesus had retreated to a home in Tyre, looking for rest. But even there, He could not escape notice.
That line hits home.
Like Jesus, I often long for stillness. I think, “If I can just find a quiet moment, I’ll be okay.” But life rarely cooperates with that desire. And too often, I miss opportunities to see what God might want to do in those interruptions.
This woman’s bold request was met with what seemed like resistance—even rejection. But Jesus wasn’t pushing her away. He was drawing out her faith.
And she didn’t flinch.
Her answer? “Even the dogs eat the crumbs.”
That wasn’t desperation—that was conviction.
She believed that even a crumb of Jesus’ power was enough to heal her daughter.
And she was right.
Her faith revealed what so many “religious insiders” missed: God’s mercy is abundant. His grace is for all.
Jesus used this moment to show everyone—especially His disciples—that faith outweighs status, tradition, and religious background.
Her boldness led to healing.
And this should challenge each of us:
Do we approach Jesus with that same kind of faith?
Do we believe His smallest touch is enough for the deepest need in our lives?
Am we open to the idea that someone outside of our expectations might be the very person God wants to use—or minister to? Or even, minister and teach us?
Even the crumbs are enough when they come from the table of the King.
We need to want to live like this woman—humble, persistent, and full of faith—ready to see God move even when it’s inconvenient… even when we’re tired… even when we think the moment isn’t right.
Because those are often the moments when He moves most.
