It happened on a mountain. Not in a synagogue, not in front of crowds, not at a dinner table—but in sacred stillness, high above the noise. (Mark 9:2-8)
Jesus took three of His closest men—Peter, James, and John—and unveiled the truth of who He really is. Not in whispers. Not in metaphors. But in glory.
In that moment, Jesus was transfigured before them—radiant, overwhelming, undeniably divine. And it happened away from everything else.
That’s the invitation for us as all.
Will we step away from the pressure, the pace, the performance—and go up the mountain?
Will we enter the stillness long enough to actually see Him?
Because it’s in that place—apart from distraction—where we are reminded:
– God doesn’t ask for our perfection.
– He asks for our presence.
What does God want?
He wants YOU.
And what does your soul actually crave beneath the grind, the stress, the chaos?
His presence.
Peter did what so many of us do—he tried to manage the moment.
Let’s build something. Let’s make sense of this. Let’s not lose control.
But the voice of the Father broke through with one directive:
“This is My beloved Son. Listen to Him.”
Not to your logic.
Not to tradition.
Not to your survival strategies.
Listen. To. Him.
And when it was over—when the cloud lifted and the awe faded—only Jesus remained.
That’s the point.
Not Moses. Not Elijah.
Not our egos. Not our need to be in control.
