Twelve years. That’s how long this woman suffered—long enough to adapt, to settle, to accept a life that was less than what God intended. She wasn’t dying, but she wasn’t truly living either. She was caught in a cycle of just existing. And the worst part? She was cut off—isolated by religious tradition, told she was unclean, unworthy, and unwelcome in the very places where she believed God’s presence could be found.
Adaptation is a survival mechanism, but it can also become a prison. I’ve done the same. I’ve sat in struggle, in pain, in limitations—not because God placed me there, but because I became used to operating from that place—even excelling from that place. But here’s the truth: I was never meant to live from a position of weakness when God has already provided strength.
Every day, I remind myself to seek first the Kingdom of God. But if I’m honest, how often do I truly do that in the moments that matter?
She didn’t know she could go directly to God. But we do. And we must.
How often do we, like her, search for answers in the wrong places? She turned to the experts, the ones who were supposed to help, but they left her worse off. The wrong counsel—even well-intentioned—can take us further from the truth. That’s why the voices we allow into our lives matter.
Re-evaluate who you seek, listen to and consider in all the places and connection points in your life.
Something shifted when she stopped looking in the wrong places and went straight to Jesus. She knew—without hesitation—that one touch of His garment could restore her completely. Her faith wasn’t passive. It was bold, desperate, and intentional.
And here’s the part that hit me: she came up behind Him. Jesus was already ahead of her healing. He was positioned in front of her, waiting for her to catch up to the freedom that had always been hers to receive.
That’s our story too. God is already there—already leading, already moving toward the trials, the victories, and the opportunities ahead. He’s never out of position. It’s on us to move forward in faith, press through the noise, and take hold of what He has been waiting to give us all along.
