Jesus made it clear: It’s not what goes into a man that defiles him, but what comes out.
This is about so much more than food.
God crafted my soul. In its purest form, I was designed to reflect His image. But the world—through sin, deception, and brokenness—piles layers on top of who I was meant to be.
I’ve spent much of my life trying to return to that place—the place where I am fully revealed as the man God created me to be.
And in that pursuit, there is a battle raging.
A battle over my mind, my thoughts, and my beliefs.
What Takes Root in My Heart Becomes My Truth
We live in an age where we are constantly bombarded with information, opinions, and distractions. Some are true, but most are not.
But the real danger? If we allow the wrong voices to shape us, they become our reality.
If we accept false identities, negative beliefs, or the lies of the enemy, then our words, actions, and decisions will be shaped by those lies.
If we let the world define us, we will live out of alignment with who God says we are.
Jesus said in Luke 6:45:
“The good person out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil person out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart.”
What fills our hearts will define our realities.
Renewing Our Minds Is Not Optional
This is why renewing our minds is critical.
Romans 12:2 reminds me that I must be transformed through the renewal of my mind—because my heart is waiting for direction.
If our minds align with the world’s voices, our hearts will follow.
If our minds align with God’s voice, we will create, speak, and live in alignment with our true identity in Christ.
What we choose to think, believe, and speak matters.
Because ultimately, it reveals who we are becoming.
