Who Fills Your Cup?

I give, I serve, I lead—relentlessly. In my business, my home, my marriage, my mission. Day after day, I pour out.

But deep down, I wrestle with a question: Who fills my cup when I’m always the one pouring out?

For years, I looked to my wife Shelly to be that source, seeking stability in her instead of in God. But no person (and Shelly is absolutely the best)—no matter how incredible—can fill a role that was meant for God alone. Without Him as my foundation, serving becomes draining instead of fulfilling.

Jesus knew when power had gone out from Him. A crowd surrounded Him, pressing in on every side, but He was aware of the one who truly reached for Him.

The journey God has for us is uniquely ours. Others may walk with us, but He gives us insight and direction that others may not see or understand. Our responsibility is to press in, listen, and yield to His calling.

And here’s the key: The woman who was healed didn’t hide the truth. She came forward, fearful but honest. That’s the step we must take every day—the step of full truthfulness.

The world encourages hiding, embellishing, and redirecting. But freedom is found in truth. Jesus didn’t need her honesty for His sake—He already knew what had happened. She needed it for hers.

Without truth, we stay trapped. But when we embrace it, we step fully into the freedom God has for us.

And then, Jesus spoke to her—not just to acknowledge her healing, but to restore her identity. “Daughter, your faith has made you well.”

Before He talked about her body, He addressed her soul.

God isn’t calling us to be someone different—He is calling us back to who He created us to be. To live fully in His presence. At peace. Whole. Restored.
