Do People Recognize God in Us?
When Jesus stepped off the boat, people recognized Him immediately. They knew who He was, what He was about, and what He could do (Mark 6:53-56).
Can the same be said about my life?
Do people see God’s presence in my words, my actions, my leadership? Or do they just see another man going through the motions?
I’ve encountered men and women who radiate something different—a quiet peace, an unshakable confidence, an intensity that comes from knowing exactly who they are in Christ. It’s visible in their eyes, in the way they listen, in the way they carry themselves. It’s undeniable.
That’s the kind of life I want to live.
The people in these verses weren’t casually interested in Jesus—they were desperate. They ran ahead of Him, carried the sick from every town, and did whatever it took just to be near Him.
Their faith was active, not passive.
Do We Pursue Jesus Like That?
Too often, we convince ourselves we can carry our own burdens. We spend years or an entire lifetime trying to handle everything on our own. But these people here in these verses knew better. They ran to Him because they knew only Jesus could bring the healing, the restoration, and the peace they needed.
Even more, they believed that just touching the fringe of His cloak was enough.
This should challenge us.
Do we believe that a single moment in God’s presence is enough to change our situation?
We Are Not Called to Be the Healer—But We Are Called to Be a Light
The work God calls us to will never be complete on this side of eternity. But that doesn’t mean we don’t give it everything we have.
A person fully connected to God naturally ushers others into freedom. Not through religion. Not through performance. But through authentic, undeniable connection to Christ—one that others can see, feel, and be drawn to.
If we stay connected to Him, we don’t have to force anything.
The fringe of His cloak is enough.
