Returning to Passion and Purpose
There are moments in every man’s life where, despite doing all the right things, the fire seems to dim. You’re still showing up—leading your family, growing your business, maintaining your body, and seeking God—but the passion that once fueled your every move feels distant.
If you’re there, you’re not alone. This isn’t a sign of failure. It’s an invitation.
An invitation to return to the source. “I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). We often get so caught up in the mission that we forget our primary calling is relationship with God. Without that connection, the fire inevitably wanes.
So, how do we reignite it?
First, recognize that it’s not about chasing motivation or inspiration. Those are fleeting. What we need is alignment—with God’s purpose and our true identity in Christ. “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
Second, understand that to lead well—whether it’s our family, business, or community—we must first be filled. “Fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you… For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline” (2 Timothy 1:6-7). Leadership requires passion, and that passion comes from time spent with God.
Finally, be honest with yourself. It’s okay to admit that something feels off, even when life is objectively good. That honesty opens the door for God to move, bringing clarity and renewed passion. “Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and sustain me with a willing spirit” (Psalm 51:12).
Men, the fire isn’t gone. It’s waiting to be reignited. Seek God. Align your heart with His. Step boldly into the season ahead.
The world needs men who lead with fire, passion, and unwavering purpose.
